Dermal Fillers Aftercare
  • Immediately following the treatment, there may be sight redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. These symptoms are temporary and should go away within 3 to 4 days. The initial swelling following a lip filler treatment may last longer, generally 7 to 10 days. During the swelling period, the area injected will appear uneven and possibly hard to touch, this is normal.
  • It is advised to apply a cool compress initially after treatment. Do not place ice directly onto the area. Ice cubes wrapped in a clean tea towel would be ideal. Ice the area on/off for a few hours to help with swelling.
  • Avoid Alcohol for 24 hours as it may cause additional swelling and bruising to the area.
  • If you experiencing any sharp extreme pain, extreme bruising or white blanching of the skin after treatment , please contact myself immediately on 07860823370. Please text or leave a voicemail if I am unavailable
  • Do not expose the treated area to extreme heat (Sun, Sun Beds, Hot Tubs, Sauna etc) or extreme cold until swelling has resolved.
  • If you previously suffered with cold sores, there is a chance the trauma of the needle allow an outbreak to occur.
  • Avoid touching the area for 6 hours after the treatment to avoid infection. Make-up should not be applied for 24 hrs. I understand the urge to touch the area after the treatment will be strong – but resist it. Touching the freshly treated area carries the risk of infection, as well as the risk of moving the filler into another area creating an undesired result. It is ok to cleanse the face as normal, however ensure hands are very clean.
  • Do not go swimming for 24 hours to allow the injection points to close
  • Avoid Strenuous exercise until the swelling has subsided.

How Long do results last?

Dermal Fillers are long lasting but not permanent. Results can vary, however a duration period of 6 to 9 months is to be expected. The treatment may need to be repeated to give optimal results at a follow up appointment around 2 to 4 weeks later.
